25 of the most useful ideas from 2025

There's a lot of noise at the end of the year about goal setting, becoming your best self, making 2026 the best year yet, or stepping into a "new" you. January 1st can feel like you're supposed to mark some grand transformation, like you're meant to shed your skin and emerge as someone completely different.

My extended family in Taiwan follows the lunar calendar, and with it being the end of the year of the Snake, this means it's time to shed what's no longer needed. What once protected you, but what you've now grown out of.

I love that. As I zoom out at the end of this year, I want to give you the most valuable ideas I've come across. I've distilled everything into a list 25 prompts that I hope are meaningful and useful for you so you can shed what isn't needed, and create what will serve you next. Like...

#8: What gave you the most peace this year?
#19: Your environment is strong than willpower. How can you make it easy for yourself? #25: There’s sweet spot of challenges between feeling a little out of control and overwhelmed. How will you gauge that?

As you look back, know that you don't need to become "new". You're not broken. You don't need fixing. What you might need is alignment, or a quiet check-in with what matters. It might be a simple adjustment toward the things that feel true. Or a reset.

There's real value in asking yourself good questions. Not the shallow "What are your goals?" kind, but the ones that help you notice where you're out of sync with yourself, and where can you flow when you've been pushing.

Use what resonates, skip what doesn't. But if you take nothing else from this list, take this: build a life that makes you feel most alive.

If you discover through these questions that you want to create more space for what matters, the Practice with Purpose framework + planner is rooted in exactly this!

P.S. One - What makes you feel most alive, connected and energized? Do more of that.

Two - 2026 is the year of the Horse. This means forward movement, bold actions, strength that doesn't need to prove itself. Horses are also incredibly sensitive. They read energy, and know when something's forced versus when it's flowing. They won't be pushed where they don't want to go. What does this mean for your goals?

Three - the Practice with Purpose framework is on special. $99 for:

  • the complete framework ($77)
  • your physical planners included (a $80 value, shipped to your door)
  • training modules and ongoing resources

A system built on alignment, connection and flow.

Hey Reader Did you catch Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show? I'm not a big football fan, like, I only knew which teams were playing a few days ago. But the boys in my family love all the sportsball things, and so we do a hang every year on Super Bowl Sunday. It's really an excuse for Ted to make 2-3 kinds of chili. Anyway... Bad Bunny. He sent the powerful multilingual message of unity: "Together we are America". And addressing every viewer, was this line (in Spanish): "Mi nombre es Benito...

In this letter On Healing Hi friend, We're all walking bundles of so many things. Joy, peace, inspiration. Anxiety, fear, trauma. Sometimes all at the same time. I struggled with what to write today because of the horrific, unsettling and heartbreaking events unfolding in Minneapolis (and beyond). Maybe you're feeling it too—that weight of carrying too much at once. This 360 space being the peaceful community of love, caring, inclusion and support, I want to protect these things as fervently...

In this letter On Bravery Last night I asked Ted what I should write about in tomorrow's email. He said, "Tell them your husband's a big loser." We both laughed. But looking over at him, I saw he kind of meant it. After devoting over half his life in orchestras, Ted walked away from the performing side of his career for dream of working on the business side of classical music. Big leap. Terrifying. Right!? Many of you who've been with us will know. he retired to join the Dayton Performing...
